Membership in SAWCA is essential to the operation of any workers' compensation program. It affords opportunities for:

Open discussion and debate concerning the wellbeing and interests of workers' compensation programs throughout the United States.
Addressing legislative issues.
Reviewing changing international trends that are so critical to the management of public workers' compensation programs.
Public sector organizations to conduct dialogue with medical providers, insurance providers, managed care providers, and public officials from across the country.
Sharing information with those states in the southeastern region that are geographically similar representing an added bonus for SAWCA members.

Mission
To make available and present instruction by means of forums, lectures, meetings, and written material regarding the administration of workmen's laws and to provide an avenue by which those interested in workers' compensation may interact with one another to share information and address issues common to the jurisdictions that are members of the
association.

Who
The SAWCA membership includes 19 jurisdictions; 17 states, District of Colombia and the Virgin Islands. The States are: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. The Southern Association of Workers' Compensation Administrators, Inc. (SAWCA) was formed in 1949 and incorporated in 1980.
